Currently there are about 1000 people taking refuge in the Knysna Town Hall and several church halls. About two days ago there was a gang of youths armed with razor blades that were slashing the faces of anyone suspected to be a foreign African. Several people from Limpopo province (Venda and Shangaan speakers) have also been assaulted and robbed.
